This position will manage CEE’s New Construction and Existing Homes Initiatives, and become the residential team lead on aspects of the Inflation Reduction Act, including leading cross-sector collaborative efforts internally as well as with external partners. This role is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an impactful professional nonprofit dedicated to advancing energy efficiency, utility systems, and greenhouse gas reduction benefits for lasting public benefit.

The Program Associate position will focus on whole house Initiatives, which emphasize energy efficiency and energy reduction as well as load management and demand response. The individual will work with CEE member utilities and highly engaged industry partners and implementer groups working collaboratively to maximize the energy savings and decarbonization impacts of whole home approaches. The role involves focusing on measures that improve a building envelope and how these solutions and systems will affect the relationship to other equipment or aspects of the home. This individual will also research how whole home program design and deployment is segmented to reach priority communities and how CEE can support binational market transformation objectives.
The position is part of a four-person team and will report to the Residential Sector Lead. The successful candidate will join CEE at a critical time for energy efficiency programs in the United States and Canada. With utility priorities and goals shifting to increasingly emphasize decarbonization and equity in addition to energy and demand savings, members come together through the consortium to promote technological advancements that support clean and affordable generation and energy delivery.

In-person meetings involve domestic travel and multiple days of moving between meetings at hotels and conference centers.

The Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) is seeking a motivated, organized individual to join its Commercial and Industrial (C&I) team as a Program Manager focused on Strategic Energy Management (SEM) and high-performance industrial equipment. CEE is a nonprofit consortium of efficiency program administrators, primarily large investor-owned utilities from across the United States and Canada, that work together on common approaches to advancing efficiency. Energy efficiency is consistently regarded as the most cost-effective means of securing additional energy resources. It also directly offsets the need to generate additional energy and is one of the most direct means of greenhouse gas mitigation available. By working together at CEE, program administrators leverage the effect of their funding dollars and exchange information on effective practices to achieve greater energy efficiency for the public good.

The Program Manager position will focus on commercial and industrial SEM programs, which emphasize energy efficiency and energy reduction via operational and behavioral actions. SEM is growing demand side management program, and the successful candidate will support an active group of CEE member utilities and highly engaged industry partners and implementer groups working collaboratively to maximize the energy savings and decarbonization impacts of SEM. This position will also explore new strategies for heat pumps in industrial process heating applications to support both energy efficiency and decarbonization in the industrial sector.
The position is part of a six-person team and will report to the Industrial Sector Lead. The successful candidates will join CEE at a critical time for energy efficiency programs in the United States and Canada. The Program Assistant will support accelerating the adoption of market strategies to reduce energy use cost-effectively and equitably and decarbonize commercial end-uses, with additional focus on the changing landscape for dynamic energy management and connected devices. This position provides an opportunity to gain skills and develop professionally to facilitate consensus driven approaches to achieve US and Canadian energy efficiency market transformation. The Program Assistant is part of a five-person team responsible for commercial and industrial (C&I) energy efficiency and building energy management initiatives and will report to the Commercial Sector Lead. Necessary attributes for this position are interest in C&I energy-using technologies, energy efficiency program design, and market research. We seek a candidate with strong interpersonal and written communication skills who is organized in their work habits, exhibits problem-solving qualities, and possesses a desire for continuous improvement.
