CEE is proud to announce that Abigail Daken has joined the Consortium staff to direct our portfolio of market transformation initiatives as well as oversee and manage residential HVAC efforts.
“The Consortium is thrilled to have someone with Abi’s technical expertise and broad market knowledge,” said CEE Executive Director, John Taylor. “I’ve personally worked with her during her time at EPA on HVAC, thermostats, water heating, and automated load management. She is the ideal professional to ensure the integrity of our specification process and strategically direct our work on residential space conditioning.”
In this role, Abigail will serve as the staff lead of the Program Operations Committee (POC), a subset of the CEE Board tasked with evaluating, reviewing, and approving initiative actions that span across all of CEE work. She will also direct and manage the wide portfolio of residential HVAC efforts, which focus on the adoption of high-performing products and solutions that contribute to affordability, reliability, and decarbonization goals. Key areas in the upcoming months include supporting dual fuel installation practices, defining integrated control capabilities, and driving uptake of efficient and connected heat pumps at scale.
Abigail comes to CEE from the United States Environmental Protection Agency, where she served as Product Manager, ENERGY STAR HVAC and Connected for more than a decade in the Office of Air and Radiation. She has also worked as a consultant for the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences and a Senior Engineering Physicist at EDO-EVI.
Ms. Daken earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Maryland, a Masters of Arts in Physics from the University of California, and a Master of Engineering and Public Policy from the University of Maryland.
